This causes the Achilles tendon to become inflexible and more prone to further injury. Chronic Achilles tendonitis can lead to complete rupture of the tendon if it is not treated and rehabilitated correctly.

Athletes who place sudden increased stress on their Achilles tendon, such as uphill training
